Our spring developmental league is being offered to help students and parents from local public and private schools fill gaps in the boys and girls programs at the high school and middle school level.
What are these gaps?
The BDM Non-Varsity Spring League will develop players, potential coaches/umpires and offer a place for new start program parents to communicate and learn from parents and leaders of existing programs.
Where possible, we will group students from the same school together, but no team will be directly associated with any single school, have their team name associated with their school, or wear any clothing that would identify them with their school program – this a requirement to make this an FHSAA compliant AAU style league.
Our format will be developmental clinics on 2/4, 2/11 and 2/18, followed by 6 game days: 2/25, 3/3, 3/10, 3/24, 3/31, 4/7. These are all Saturdays, with practice running from 9 AM – 12 noon. Registration open through 2/25
Divisions: Boys U19, Boys U15, Girls U19, Girls U15. No 2012/2013 (senior/junior) players with 2 or more seasons of varsity experience may compete.
Game formats: Boys - 4x10 minute running clock quarters; Girls - 2x25 minute running clock halves. All 2012 USL rules and 2012 youth rules apply.
Game day format will be 1 hour coach’s practice followed by 2 games.
Teams will be comprised of between 10 and 25 players depending on game format and the number of available players: 10v10 (Boys), 12v12 (Girls) and 7v7 (Boys/Girls where numbers dictate)

Over the past four years:
Girls Program:
Boys Program:
This year BDM LAX offers a boy's program following on the success of the Killian lacrosse season and it's six All-District player award recipients. Five Killian Boys players are on the ESPN Rise National High School Player Lacrosse Watch List. Senior Warren Fields (2012) has committed to Robert Morris University for football and is expected to also play Division-I Lacrosse.
Our U19 Boys successfully competed in the Paradise Shootout in Naples, FL, a national level recruiting tournament.
Head Coaches from Coral Reef Senior High School and Miami-Killian Senior High School are associated with BDM LAX.

Are you ready to raise your game:
Sick stick skills: Are your behind the back, non-dominant , and bounce passes just as comfortable as throwing with your dominant hand. Can you pass "spot-on-target" nearly the entire length of the field, even with a short stick?
Great Defense Skills and Footwork: Can you keep a low attacker below Goal Line Extended or safely ride any opponent out to the sidelines at your discretion? Can you defend 6 on 3 and win the ball back almost every time?
Attacking: Can you hit a 9" inch square at the 4 corners of the net (or the "5-hole") again and again from any angle? Can you execute all manner of dodges repeatedly and "sell" the defense into mistake after mistake? Can you thread the needle by feeding through defenders multiple times on a fast break or in settled play to work for the "A" and let your teammate score the easy close in goal?
Speed and agility: Are you as fast as you can be? Are you training properly to prevent injuries during games? Just how good is your footwork, and can you do that with a stick, a ball and game pressure?
How is Your Lax IQ: Lacrosse is a team sport - individual players don't win games, execute successful offenses or provide an effective defense. Can you see the full field, think several moves ahead and "coach" yourself to the best outcome that uses your entire team's resources?
To be a great lacrosse player you'll have to work hard, but it will be a lot of fun getting there. Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced boys or girls player, BDM Lacrosse can help you get there - quickly. No yelling or screaming, instead a lot of positive coaching and a steady progression forward of your skill level. Great drills and instruction that progress to constructive high level scrimmage and game play.
